Tom Gabel/Dan Andriano/Brendan Kelly

Hello party people!
We know, we haven’t updated in awhile and we’re sorry for that – but we’ve got a great series of posters coming up and fun and exciting things happening in the Dog & Pony camp…so we’ll (hopefully) be updating a bit more in the coming weeks.

A couple weeks ago we created a poster (seen below) for a great show featuring some new transplants to the First Coast! Tom Gabel of Against Me!, Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio – who have both recently moved to lovely St. Augustine – and their good friend Brendan Kelly of The Lawrence Arms brought their acoustic guitars out to Café Eleven and played some fan favorites. It was a great show and we sold out of these posters with the quickness.

Some things to note:
• During the printing process, Tim said “This looks like the book cover of a 1967 edition of Beowulf.”
• We printed this in house paint! Can you even wrap your head around that? Yeah, we can’t either. We learned this awesome (and far less expensive) trick from our pal Nate Duval’s amazing blog. House paint! We went to Sherwin Williams and color matched the paint to exactly the colors we wanted (no pesky mixing here…) and made it happen. Printing was toughish and a totally different process than we’re used to…but good to know for next time. I think the medium we print our posters in will be determined by the design in the future.
• Brendan Kelly drew something very obscene on the poster when he signed a couple for us. We treasure those drawings.
• Heather Gabel is the lovely wife of Tom and an artist in her own right. Check out her stuff. Since she’s local now!

Thats it! More to come…
• Kings of Leon
• Culture Swap art show
• El Ten Eleven
• Elvis Perkins in Dearland
