We left the office today and:
• Headed straight to the Home Depot near Tim’s house.
• Bought some lumber and a couple 500 watt shop lights
• Headed back to Tim’s
• Built an exposure unit.
• Named it Rickets.
“WAIT!” you say, “you guys already built that fancy little one (and named it David Bowie), isn’t that good enough for you?”
NAY! Unfortunately, we REALLY under thought that one. Turns out fluorescent lights will NEVER do the job we want them to. Not efficiently at least. So this new guy SHOULD burn screens at a blazing 5-ish minutes! No, I didn’t take pictures, I was too busy making sure Tim didn’t saw his thumbs off. Plus we had to build with a mighty haste so the dinner prepared by Tim’s lovely wife Jennifer didn’t get cold. Done in 2 hours. Easy.
We’ve been in transition moving our printing crap out of my apartment dining room and into the agency we spend our days at. I think tomorrow will be a big step forward. We’ve got the big things moved into the office, we just need to consolidate and fit everything neatly in the allotted space. Our first print in the new space will (hopefully) be our little project for Brian’s show that we mentioned in the last post. Go ahead, scroll down, I don’t mind.
Pictures of our new exposure unit (if you know what I mean) and our setup at the agency coming soon. Maybe some printing process! We’re trying the elusive paper soaked in oil method instead of taping 15 transparencies together. So much experimentation! Join us! We’re goin pro!
But just because I feel bad leaving you with no eye candy, here’s a preview of the previously mentioned print:
MINN? This one’s funny.
